There are two main branding methods we use to create your unique personal designs on drink holders and they are single colour screen printing and full-colour sublimation. But what is the difference between the two, other than the number of colours involved? Today we're looking into what you can expect from both branding techniques.

Promotional Stubby Branding Differences

Screen Printing on Stubbies

Screen printing is the most cost-effective branding method for stubby coolers and it is the one generally included as part of the pricing on our website unless otherwise specified. Screen printing involves creating a "screen" through which ink is pressed onto the surface of a material (in this case, neoprene). The screen is cut out in the shape of your design, so the ink, when applied to the item, takes the shape of your logo or slogan. If you look above, the purple stubby holder on the right is decorated using this method.

Sublimation for Drink Holders

Sublimation printing is the method we use for adding full-colour images such as photographs to stubby coolers. Because this technique involves more preparation and details decoration, it usually costs a bit more on top of our standard website pricing. Sublimation involves digitally printing your design onto special sublimation transfer paper using suitable ink. We then press the paper onto the material using a heat press, which is strong enough to turn the ink into a gas which then penetrates the fibres of the material. The ink is then part of the material, meaning your design is absolutely seamless as part of the fabric and looks extremely vivid. If you look above, the illustrated stubby holder on the left is decorated using this method.

Which Technique Suits My Order?

The main factors involved in choosing a branding method for promotional stubby coolers are what exactly you want printed and how the cost of branding suits your budget. If you require a colourful stubby holder perhaps featuring photos of family or friends, then screen printing won't work for your design. Screen printing is more suitable to adding a slogan or logo, something simple and in a single colour. However, you do need to be mindful that sublimation printing will be more expensive than screen printing owing to its relative complexity, but the results (as you can see above) speak for themselves.
